The Golden Pothos is a drought tolerant evergreen vining plant that is native to the Solomon Islands. There are many varieties of Pothos with varying leaf colors. They are an easy care plant that thrives indoors above 65 degrees and outdoors in zones that stay above 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Although they prefer indirect bright light whenever possible, they can also handle relatively long periods in low light conditions. You can keep your potted plant indoors during the winter and then move it to a sunny spot outdoors in late spring and summer. They are a fairly drought tolerant tree that should only be watered when the soil in the pot is mostly dry. During dryer cooler temperatures they should be misted and kept over a small tray of water filled with pebbles so that their roots do not sit in the water. During the growing season feed with a little bit of weak liquid fertilizer. When potting up your Pothos us any ordinary potting mix that drains well. Because this is a vining plant it is perfect for hanging baskets. You will need to repot the Pothos every other year or so. Shipping and handling can be very tough on live plants so please be sure to open and check your plant right away. Mist the foliage and check the soil for moisture. Our plant team gives each plant a drink before they are individually shipped and wrapped so they may not need to be watered right away. Overwatering is one of the most common causes of decline with indoor plants. We are unable to ship this plant to California due to restrictions by the California Department of Agriculture. Please be aware that if your pet is a plant chewer this plant can be toxic. There are no other authorized sellers of American Plant Exchange plants.
