Red Better Calm-The-Heck-Down Balm
This steroid-free salve is one rich, moisturizing, non-irritating skin quieter that effectively soothes angry skin. Relaxes and calms annoyed skin quickly. Several skin-soothers rely on steroids (not ideal for daily or long-term use). Others use antioxidants alone, which can be less effective. And many can contain allergens or other irritants, which can cause additional problems. This formulation is free of steroids and all 109 published allergens, relying on powerful, non-allergenic anti-cathelicidins and coconut-derived fatty acids for impressively quick and effective soothing.

Put Angry Skin on 'N-ice'Angry skin acting up from the heat or other triggers? 'N-ice' it down with this powerful skin soother. Steroid-Free Soother Steroids are awesome for the quick clearing of severe flare-ups, but they're not meant for long-term use. If you're practicing proper prevention (based on your patch test results) you really should only need a steroid a few times a year (but as always: check with your doctor before stopping any medications!) For other reactions? Try this steroid-free calmer. De-itcher Dab it onto insect bites as soon as you notice them for best results. De-Flaker It's great for 'flake-ups,' too! Sunburn Salve We hope you never need it — you should be staying out of the sun and slathering on sunscreen — but in case of a sunburn emergency, it can help calm redness and pain, and reduce peeling (for severe or blistering sunburns, see a doctor right away). |
Steroids: Not For Long-Term UseTopical steroids provide important emergency care for severe flare-ups, allergic reactions, itching, and inflammation but they are normally intended for short-term use. Prolonged use can lead to problems like steroidal acne, decreasing efficacy, and serious health complications. A correct diagnosis is crucial so that a prevention-and-treatment program can be followed, limiting steroids to emergencies. Note : If you’ve been on steroids for weeks or more, expect an initial flare-up when you stop. This rebound phenomenon, can be so severe as to require hospitalization. If your doctor tells you to stop your steroids, even if a rebound occurs, it is important that you do so. Be patient, follow your doctor’s instructions, and you could be clear and steroid-free soon. Also ask about a patch test. Many times, skin problems can be improved simply by avoiding what you are sensitive to. And as always follow your doctor's instructions! |

The Validated Hypoallergenic Rating System is like an 'SPF' for Skin Safety

How the vh-rating system works:
The VH-Number functions a bit like an SPF but for skin safety or hypoallergenicity.
'SPF' shows you how protective a product is against UVB light.
'VH-' tells you that a product is Validated proven to be, via patch tests and allergen omission Hypoallergenic. The dash is a minus sign.
The number that follows VH indicates how many allergens are omitted. The higher the VH number, the more allergens are absent.
