Aperrently [The Moon] is a JoJo character, or maybe even a Stand thereof.

I noticed the scar under the pec, is this a trans man?

I'm genuinely curious why you anthropomorphic-ized the moon into a trans man. Luna is usually associated with femenity.

As a bisexual guy, I think it's interesting. Did you associate the scars with the moon's craters and the monthly changes of how we see it? That's just my personal take.

Edit: I also always love nipple rings.

MareAUs OP t1_ixrjx4v wrote

i did it mostly because the moon represents something mystical and beautyfull, and becaus even has a man trans or not, we all have a feminine side, i want to show more of this side

I like it! I'm personally not an astrological afficianado, but I've always loved lunar symbology. Staring at the moon is one of the most calming things for me.

MareAUs OP t1_ixrk63b wrote

also, associating the scars with the craters is a great take, but besides the representation of a trans man there is no other specific reason i made it

The moon is male in many cultures. Norse mythology had a male moon god, as had egypt.

sodashintaro t1_ixs2ofz wrote

Male deities of the moon: Khonsu (Egyptian), Thoth (Egyptian), Tsukuyomi (Japanese), Mani (Norse), Sin (Mesopotamian), Chandra (Indian), Igaluk/Alignak (Inuit)

as to why many relate it to femininity it was probably because they related the menstrual cycle to the moon

TheApathyParty3 t1_ixs3mhm wrote

I think it's also a Western thing. A big motif in European mythologies that derive from Greek and Roman ones associate the sun with fire and masculinity, while the moon is more water and calmness, and thus female. Prometheus and Artemis, yadda yadda.

The same is true of Abrahamic stuff. Burning bush and all that, God brought light to the void of the ocean with his fire, etc.

Fuckin love seeing the moon as male presenting. La Luna is always feminine and this is a good breath of fresh air. Reminds me of the use of azmodeus as the God of lust in helluva boss where lust is almost always represented as female

top surgery (mastectomy) are made in trans man to remove the breasts, sometimes the scars are big, and sometimes small

Beautiful art. I love it, there are so many tiny details to notice.

If you care to answer, I would love to hear your interpretation of the moon card and how it relates to your art here.

i'm basically trying to show a different side of men, showing a more sensual and beautifull side, i think the moon fits this side pretty well :)

worstofbothwords t1_ixu5gou wrote

Apart from the top surgery scars being too big, this is great. There are way too many pieces of art here featuring essentially the exact same skinny cishet white woman, and not enough that look a little more like me.

The moon in Astrology has always been considered of a feminine nature. However, sometimes people have their moons in masculine signs, which weights down said feminine nature and it's like a quite not very good adapted moon, not always feeling comfortable in its skin. I have moon in Libra, a masculine and rational sign, and it feels like this. Mystical and mysterious, but trans. A feminine vessel turned into masculine because of its placement. I love this.

Seriously though this is great, and sobering to see the rare male lunar depiction.
Like others I also wondered if the scars were something to do with craters or if it were transitional.

Call it what you want but NSFW means “You probably don’t want your boss or someone at work seeing this”. You wanna explain that “Just saying, that looks to be a side view of the Gluteus Medius and Gluteus Maximus, not a butt crack.”?

It’s a butt dude

Can we please stop with portraying top surgery scars as these huge jagged things? It's a chronic issue in art, ffs. It's inaccurate and spreads misinformation and honestly is kind of a negative portrayal. Top surgery scars do not look like that at all. This makes it look like some kind of botched mutilation, which is very disrespectful.
