It feels unusual to say this about a portrait, but the eyes look kind of dead - you've absolutely nailed this!

Normally you would see the lighter iris and some of the light source reflected in someone’s eye, but in the reference there was none of that. I tend to try drawing what I actually see in my subject, so I didn’t add that in. I also don’t think it’s inappropriate in this instance because Elon’s got an almost Payton Manning bad guy head tilt going on.

Could have solved a lot of problems in this world with the money this guy lost on a badly thought out social media experiment.

Yup, I agree.

Some of his endeavours could be in humanities interests. I don’t know, I think time will tell. I didn’t realise he owned and operated OpenAI and something like DALL-E2 is trained (correct me if I’m wrong) on stolen artists’ datasets.

His only role in openAI was as an early financier among many, whether it’s looked at as good or bad there isn’t much attributing it to him. Their current commercial enterprises are driven by Microsoft who basically doubled the investment that it was built on and gained the rights to some of their technology.

Thanks for clarifying. I suppose that’s something venture capitalists do regularly with a wide variety of start-ups.

He takes company losing profits or barely, makes them success dude is smart, why he's rich

That’s literally the exact opposite of what happened, it was not profitable nor meant to be for profit, it was founded as a nonprofit for which he was an initial investor, then after he was off the board because he has nothing to contribute to any tech company besides money (and any personal involvement beyond that is many times proven to be a detriment), Microsoft invested in them and made them for-profit

Took my A5 sketchbook sketch of Elon, fixed the proportions in Procreate and then painted into him. Really happy with how it turned out. Crazy that he’s just lost $200B I can’t really wrap my head round that kind of loss or what sort of impact it will have on his many businesses.

He looks like a Bond villain here.

$200B, if that's even accurate, is paper value.

Just like someone might value your portrait here at $1 million, but it doesn't mean you'll be able to sell it at that amount - or at least quickly, meaning it's not liquid.

It sure does make for a great clickbait headline though.

You think he’s down more? Love to hear your views on his losses, I’m a casual follower/admirer of Elon and don’t really have any in-depth understanding of his movements beyond general reporting.

With the amount of money he has, he really doesn't need to know how to make one. Children from 1%s never loose unless they are idiots. If they are average people, not smarter than you and me, its impossible not to make profit with that many money from mommy and daddy.

Unless you inconvenience him some how. Idk reminds me to the kind of stories people tell about dictatorships.

You are free to say all you want, just don't inconvenience the party!

Elon is not the gatekeeper of free speech, at all. That being said I totally agree with your point. Censorship is bad.
