Wow! This is really fine! The skin, the freckles, even the light weight of the hair on the shoulder feels so real!

It’s so good the mods might ban it for being ai inspired.

Working hard to improve on your God-given skills is an excellent thing. AI will never top that.

Thank you for commenting! I personally love working with charcoal, but I rarely see any on here. Such a shame

I don’t even have useful feedback; just say this is a good piece. It’s looks solid and in three dimensions, proportions appear correct, nice mix of light and dark.

Question: Are you in love with this person...? It seems that say to me from how she's drawn

So much vivid detail, the shading, facial features, and the hair style all make it look so real and beautiful.

Very good. Are those *supposed to be* freckles, or just part of the technique?

2

Nope, they’re supposed to be freckles ;)

Bet if she wasnt hot or a guy the number of upvotes would be much lower

Wise_0wl OP t1_j200cre wrote

Hmm.. I get what you mean. I do hope, however, that the majority of the upvotes are because people like the way I draw. I’d love to do a little experiment however, to see what would be the result if I used a less generic reference. I’d appreciate your input :)

It kind of depends, because some disgusting things can have artistic appeal, but if it's something unattractive, bland, and uninteresting, no matter how good the artwork is, it won't really gain much attention. Unless you do something clever to make something bland appear interesting. Like the artist that makes soft looking pillows out of stone.

7

Old_comfy_shoes t1_j20c15q wrote

Most likely. But, the whole point of art is to be visually appealing, so a beautiful subject matter getting more attention makes sense.

1

Ged_UK t1_j2136sg wrote

That's not the whole point of art at all. It's one possible point.

3

Old_comfy_shoes t1_j218j8f wrote

There can be other points, but the point is to be visually interesting, for visual art.

−4

Ged_UK t1_j218oue wrote

Visually interesting is definitely not the same as visually appealing. There's a big difference.

3

Old_comfy_shoes t1_j21dxpo wrote

Semantics. We can argue that forever. I think it does. If you enjoy the look of gore or whatever, then that's visually appealing to you.

Feel free to think differently. I will not discuss this further. Goodbye.

Ged_UK t1_j22fqmz wrote

What a shame. It's not about enjoying the look of gore, it's about an emotional response.
