It appears to be a queen. It moves like a bishop, but there is already a white square bishop behind it.

It does appear to be checkmate, because the king can't move left or right, and it can't take the queen because of the bishop.

However, pawns don't usually break into little pieces like that. Normally they'd fall over screaming. Seems like the artist should know that.

love everything about this except the camera makes me dizzy. Sharp edges, shines and detail on the model and full b/w except the halo are top class, keep it up

It's checkmate tho, right?

If the king takes the queen, there's a bishop lined up to snipe him. Personally, I'd just let her Mortal Kombat me...

I think the general concept is too ridiculous. A woman with a halo, with relatively large butt and breasts, who is made of a metallic material is wearing a cloth like bikini? Jumps as if she needed to jump and do a somersault jump over some obstacle, when there is nothing that she need to jump over. When she hits the enemy queen the piece shatters in all directions for some reason.

I understand that all of this is subjective artistic vision and that there is no clear “correct” way to depict something like this but I still think this short animation is trying to do too many things at once and insert too many stylistic elements into one.

no hard feelings, but i find ur points weak

everything u said is subjective, i was hoping to get objective opinion on camera angle, animation, lighting etc

but saying that red is better than blue is not really working

Yes. I definitely do not claim my opinion is anything but a subjective opinion. I don’t think anybody can be “right” or “wrong” about art. We can just have feelings about it.
