1937 Buffalo nickel hand carved and inlaid with 24 karat gold, fine silver, and copper. Made to be used in the dungeons and dragons games to decide coin tosses

A fascinating creature. When facing one in D&D, each of the eye stalks has a different spell. A dangerous foe indeed! Nice piece of art.

So this reminded me of the security guard from Futurama, which turns out is is based on the beholder from D&D, which is referenced in the title, and I didn't know it was called the beholder.

TIL about the beholder.

Thanks, OP.

Thank you I haven’t played in 25 years or so but I’m thinking of starting it back up, This was around 30 hours to carve

Great work!

Looks like the D&D cartoon version of the Beholder, on S01E02 “Eye of the Beholder”.

I got mixed up with The Beholster and the monsters in the Mirror Temple from Celeste before I realized oh it's just The Beholder itself

This is amazing. You should do one with Cthulhu too, or like, a Lovecraftian series.
