It can cause a lot of chaos unfortunately.

It's become a tradition over the past 8 years or so for my group of friends to all meet up at the local fireworks display so in that respect I really like it

That sounds really fun!!

It's really nice. Certain pockets of the group try to meet up often but the fireworks display seems to be the event that gets us all together and we get to see friends back from years ago that we don't see much of at all.

What if they developed soundless fireworks to help with animals and veterans. My dog has nearly died twice on bonfires night due to stress so I understand where you are coming from?

Be great if they did develop these but it would mean banning noisy ones. People seem to like big bangs in the sky

Unfortunately they only focus on themselves and not the implications for other people.

I'm new in the UK and was unaware of its existence until a few days ago.

Loud, scary and dangerous. The only 'holiday' I actively dislike.

What if they were more controlled and soundless?
8octothot8 t1_iuk87h1 wrote
I guess. They wouldn't have to be soundless; it just doesn't help with the aspect of nearly everyone doing it constantly for like the entire day. I have a limit, never mind those poor pets.
All I'm saying is just because some random guy tried to blow up parliament in the 1500s doesn't mean everyone has to try blow up their gardens every 5th of November. It's technically safe, yeah, but y'know... Not for me.

Never inconvenienced me personally, but as someone who works with animals I have heard a lot of sad stories from my customers.
