Ryan Gosling, he's consistently given great performances that deserve recognition.

Was so expecting Angela Bassett to get hers for her role in the latest Black Panther movie Wakanda Forever. I guess the academy is not ready to award any acting from the MC universe just yet.

I don't think those are worthy of Oscars unless it's for visual effects. Same with the Avatar movies. Angela Bassett has so many other 'serious' movies in her portfolio

Do you have any reason as to why cause I think an Actors performance shouldn’t be judged from the film their in

Marvel and comic book movies are a unique case. Their whole purpose for existing is to make money, so they follow a successful formula for the highest profit. It leaves little room for an actors own style or personal touch, or even talent. The appeal is the special effects not the acting. All the marvel actors will tell you that. Here's an example. Here's another.

In the case of Angela Bassett in that movie, her character was stonefaced almost the entire time. She stood around in a costume in front of a green screen.

If your to follow that logic then that also applies to book to movie adaptations like The Godfather or Shawshank Redemption but their generally agreed to have some of the greatest performances of all time

What? No not at all. Those two movies were not all about special effects and endless sequels. Godfather had a limited series of sequels, but they were predefined. Those examples you gave do not compare at all, or you're missing my point.
