Depends on what exactly “wrong” means?

At its worst therapeutic abuse, grooming, emotional, physical or financial abuse... at the other end of the scale... unethical behaviour... either way the public arent protected and I wonder what needs to change?

They are protected it’s called reporting to the board of psychiatry and get their license taken away if it’s something that severe

Hmm so in the UK, you report to an ethical body,... but if they swap ethical body, you have to report the worst behaviour to the ethical body who they were membership at that time... but if that ethical body has a long list of complaints the complaint sits in a pile and waits... while the therapist carries on as before and the public stays at risk... this can be take years... i wonder how long this public will put up with such so called protection...

How wrong?

How wrong does it need to be, to be wrong?

Ok, to refrain: what do you mean by wrong? No "breakthroughs, happiness, well being" , etc after a session with a therapist?

Unethical behaviour that causes clients disproportionate pain and suffering...

I can only speak about behaviour therapy, but the only way for it to go wrong is when it has no effect at all. Nothing can force behaviour, so therapy can't make you worse.

It can help you become better, or it can fail entirely. It either helps, or it has no effect at all.

That's my experience, at least. Yours may differ. For that, I have no responsibility.

I am so pleased you have had this experience... that sounds so amazing... i had now had two therapist who have behaved rather badly, one was reported to the police!

You should turn to reddit

I thought the same, yes so far this year I have ensured reporting it to the police, two ethical bodies, and peitioned to change the indistry to be better regulated and been told the need isnt great enough, so yes reddit was my next choice lol!!
