I can only speak about behaviour therapy, but the only way for it to go wrong is when it has no effect at all. Nothing can force behaviour, so therapy can't make you worse.

It can help you become better, or it can fail entirely. It either helps, or it has no effect at all.

That's my experience, at least. Yours may differ. For that, I have no responsibility.

Hmm so in the UK, you report to an ethical body,... but if they swap ethical body, you have to report the worst behaviour to the ethical body who they were membership at that time... but if that ethical body has a long list of complaints the complaint sits in a pile and waits... while the therapist carries on as before and the public stays at risk... this can be take years... i wonder how long this public will put up with such so called protection...
