I ride horses. I was working on retraining an ex race horse, I got him out of the paddock. As I was getting him ready I could tell he was in an odd mood, i got on anyway. About 5 mins into our warm-up he bolted & bucked. I fell off and broke both my ankles. I needed surgery on both ankles & 6 weeks in a wheelchair. Next time I won't ignore the mood!

I don't ignore my "gut". When something feels off it, I figure out what I observed or logically concluded subconsciously that cause the feeling. As far as i can tell, a "gut" feeling isn't based on nothing, it's based on fear of something that we aren't consciously aware we should fear or at the very least be cautious of. I can only imagine the "gut" feeling serves a purpose and has allowed for our survival as a species. If my body is telling me something isn't right, then I trust it. It has been designed to promote my survival.
