There are some things you absolutely cannot do as a family. It is difficult for siblings to have to deal with this so you have to make sure you do special things with them alone.
Your new life will adapt and you learn to deal with the things you are missing out on. You make new "normals."
We still enjoy life, we just enjoy it differently.
I have been fortunate because I have my spouse for support. A lot of mothers are doing this solo and they truly have their hands full.
We chose not to place our child in a group home and have been doing it for 35 years. It's the only life we know. You take one day at a time.
