Twilight. Sitting through a 90 minute competent film production was way better than reading Stephanie Meyer’s 10th grade level writing about a sex predator.

It may be sacrilege to say it, but I think Lord of the Rings worked better as a movie. It made them cut out all of the long rambly bits that don't move the plot, especially most songs.
