Hate myself too much to be able to love someone properly. I don't want to waste anyones time.

I’m 56 and my last relationship was 10 years ago. I haven’t been looking and have turned some away and by now I feel very set in my ways and cannot perceive having room for anyone, nor imposing my neuroses on anyone new lol. Everything OP said applies. If I feel like doing something I do it. No checking in, etc. That said, I am not opposed to being swept off my feet and I do feel some regret at not having a built in nursing home (kids) when I will inevitably need it.

Being Single isnt for everybody. However it's being able to handle being by yourself and knowing how to handle it is the trick. I'm alone but never Lonely. Lol.

This. I hate the judgment of being single. People always assume there’s something wrong with you. I mean there totally is, but if I wanted to be in a relationship, I could easily be in one. Just like some people can’t handle being single, I can’t handle relationships. I feel suffocated, claustrophobic and controlled. I’m slowly building a life on my own that I’m content with and I don’t need someone else disturbing my peace.

Depressing I can't escape through entertainment anymore since everyone lost there minds in the 2010s. I kinda wish i became a drunk or a junkie instead of a nerd
