My first semester of college I moved out of the room I was in and moved into a friend's dorm room for the second semester. He was just at my house last weekend, we live 15 minutes apart, and he was a groomsman in my wedding.

No contact at all, we were cordial while on campus and made small talk here and there but after the year ended never talked again.

Thirty years later I'm still in contact with most of them.

Text them weekly and the two who live in the same city as me I see frequently. A couple live in different parts of the country but still see them about once a year.
