Nope. Not only would they be gross to kiss, but if things got serious, then I wouldn’t want to deal with the slow death and medical bills associated with lung cancer.

God fucking NO. Growing up around my dad was enough.

Nooo. So many reasons why not…the biggest though, would be that we clearly differ on a very important life philosophy. I strive to live as healthy as possible in all facets of my life…it’s just important to me that I take care of myself. I couldn’t be with a smoker.

No. I hate the smell and would prefer if neither of us got cancer.

Yes, as long as they don't smoke around me. Don't need to get lung cancer.

Not really. I was dating someone who smoked and it was really annoying when they had to take a cigarette break every hour during a date.

DahvRom t1_j2fud68 wrote

Yes, if they don't stink. I've met cigarette smokers who smell like an ashtray and I've met smokers who I never would have guessed touched a cigarette. That's my big gripe with smokers, so if that's not an issue I don't have a problem with it.

No, I can't stand the smell.

i once took an acid trip, stayed up all night and was awake all morning. around 8-9am, my grandfather came outside to have a smoke.

his lungs have been pretty bad, but…..watching him wheeze and cough his lungs out after every puff, and proceed to do it over and over again until the cigarrete was gone, and possibly light another……i was literally watching this man kill himself. it was very bothering to see, especially on the comedown of an acid trip.

as a pot smoker, that made me really question my decisions. not only would i see be suffering, but my kids and wife as well. imagine your kids literally watching you kill yourself. i still watch my mom kill herself every day. its heartbreaking.

thats why i stopped and would advise anyone else to quit as well. you are not only hurting yourself.

so to answer your question, no. i would not take a smoker seriously in a long term relationship.

No, I don't like the smell and I'd prefer to be with someone that values themselves enough to not commit slow suicide

Hell naw. They often stink, they put harmful shit in their bodies (which is stupid as f, and annoying) they often smoke around people and don’t give a f that the putrid smoke may bother or harm someone who do cares. 100% a deal breaker.

Ladybirdatl t1_j2fwghn wrote

No. It took me several years to successfully quit smoking. And, it's been like twenty years since then. Not bringing that back into my life.

It's filthy and smells horrible.

As an ex smoker I could not. I understand it but I can’t be around it and forget about kissing a smoker. I’ve tried but it just doesn’t work!

Yes* but with caveats. Not in the house and not in an enclosed space. That's how you get a smoker where you can't tell they do since they're not standing in it.

Mouth hygiene would be more important. Don't like kissing smoke mouth. Can't be too many a day. I'm okay with a steady habit like one b4 work 1 after work. A few more on days off. You lack discipline with the addiction and edge closer to pack a day, I'm out.

I used to so I get why someone would.

Personally I have never even tried a cigarette simply because I never had the desire to do so. Dating a smoker wouldn't be a problem per se but probably I would end up trying to change their mind in the long run.
