Agreed, sometimes there is a legit reason for them to soak, but 90% of the time soaking them doesn't help and just prolongs the process.

Are you actually letting the dishes soak to make it easier, or is that just what you say you’re doing to put off doing the dishes?

If you want them done now, you can do them. Letting them soak makes it easier to clean them.

I think you accidentally contradicted yourself...

You do the plates, cups and utensils while the pans soak. By the time you get to them, you're good to go.

I think this post is about someone who leaves every dish soaking and doesn't do the dishes right away.

I use the dishwasher, so I normally quickly rinse them off then stick them in the dishwasher. It saves water.

i was agreeing and saying that the time it takes to wash the rest should be long enough... So dishes don't "sit in the sink".
