I think it’s pretty essential, for most people I think it’s a period of time to “grow-up” without the constant interference of parents or family. But career wise, I think that a person should have a somewhat clear plan of what they want to pursue before deciding on a major that is otherwise useless.

I think it depends on your end goal. If it's to become a medical doctor, or lawyer, or engineer, I'd say college is... pretty important. If you're wanting to make decent income that you can live and thrive off of, there are plenty of career choices available that require little to no higher education. Much of it depends on what the individual is looking to do and how much work they're willing to put into it.

Depends on where you are.

For where i live, the k-12 education is not enough to fully prepare one for proper adulting.
