Maybe not exactly paranormal, but still a little creepy. About 6 or 7 years ago, I was hanging out with my girlfriend at the time at her place. It was the night before Halloween and we were watching Ouija board videos on YouTube. All of a sudden, we heard a loud scraping noise on the wall. The floor lamp near the corner of the room started falling towards us. If I hadn’t put my arm up to catch it, it definitely would’ve smacked us in the head. I had been to her place a million times before, and a million times after that. Never had anything like that happen. I stood it back up on the base and tried pushing it over myself. This thing wouldn’t have simply fallen on its own. She had told me about how she and her younger brother had seen shadow people in their house before and that her mother would sometimes hear a baby crying or laughing in her bathroom. I’m not exactly a believer in the paranormal. But that was definitely weird.

Her family was very Christian. Somehow, I think trying to perform a séance wouldn’t have looked good in their eyes.

Leave it to every redditor to come up with a story that involves
- Halloween
- A girlfriend
- Main guy being nonchalant about the situation

the probable reason why it felt paranormal was because of the pre existing spookiness in the air and also if the house was in a rather remote location as compared to the rest of the state or town

You strike me as the type of person who probably has a lot of friends.

any other updates after the Halloween incident?
Floptopus t1_jaf0xp3 wrote
Nothing. Never had any other incidents since then. Just thought the timing of it was extremely odd.

it is, what are the chances you'd experience something spooky on a day none other than the holiday for it. most people are in fancy attire out frolicking and collecting candy

Exactly. Best explanation is maybe the base was sitting on the electrical cable for it and it was unsteady? She liked to keep the window open a little bit and maybe a breeze was just strong enough to tip it over.
