33 years old and never had one, so personally so don’t believe in “paranormal” at all.

there's always an explanation for the "unexplained" events and a shit ton of vfx and editing in the ghost caught on cctv videos but everyone experiences quite a lot of unsettling and creepy things which are pretty hard to comprehend even to the rational mind.

Sounds like it would be cool to experience but never in my life lol. No lie. My wife believes and has had experiences but she even says that “spirits” or “whatever you want to call it..would avoid someone like me as I don’t believe. I am the definition of a nonbeliever lol. If I don’t see it. It’s not real. Simple and straightforward to me.

Would be cool though.

I used to hear breathing next to me when I went to bed every single night once I turned the lights off, happened until I was 16

did any major or possibly remark-worthy incident happen during your tweens or after you turned 16 which may have caused it/made it go away

Hmm that’s a good question. If anything I spent more time in my head about life situations and was less present. My dad always said he heard ghosts during the night and different smells like someone was cooking. I also heard typing in the study in the middle of the night in my early twenties so who knows….

Mines not particularly interesting or scary, but it is unexplainable to me.

Anyways I drove all night to visit my cousin in another state. When I got there, him and his wife were giving me a quick tour of the house before I went to bed. We get to the kitchen and a butcher’s knife that was in the sink seemingly, defies gravity and jumps out onto the floor. Nobody was near the sink. We were all across the room and no loud bangs happened to the floor to “bounce” it out of the sink.

I’m sure there’s an explanation to this, but none of us could figure it out. I was too tired to be scared and my cousin isn’t afraid of his own house. We went on with our lives. I wonder if he or his wife even remember it happening. I will never forget it though because I distinctly remember the impossibility of it. The sink was normal depth and the knife and a rando fork were the only thing in it. How did it bounce/ jump/ fall out of the sink with no human nearby, idk.

maybe it wasn't a deed done by a human but some sort of small animal or pest with enough muscle capacity to fling it over? were the windows/doors/openings closed or open? of course it isn't a possibility if they kept the house extremely clean and also if they didn't suggest the same right after it happened because if it's happened once it must've occurred in the past as well. anyone will feel somewhat uneasy after ruling out such possibilities even though there probably is a reasonable explanation why

Maybe not exactly paranormal, but still a little creepy. About 6 or 7 years ago, I was hanging out with my girlfriend at the time at her place. It was the night before Halloween and we were watching Ouija board videos on YouTube. All of a sudden, we heard a loud scraping noise on the wall. The floor lamp near the corner of the room started falling towards us. If I hadn’t put my arm up to catch it, it definitely would’ve smacked us in the head. I had been to her place a million times before, and a million times after that. Never had anything like that happen. I stood it back up on the base and tried pushing it over myself. This thing wouldn’t have simply fallen on its own. She had told me about how she and her younger brother had seen shadow people in their house before and that her mother would sometimes hear a baby crying or laughing in her bathroom. I’m not exactly a believer in the paranormal. But that was definitely weird.

Her family was very Christian. Somehow, I think trying to perform a séance wouldn’t have looked good in their eyes.

Leave it to every redditor to come up with a story that involves

  1. Halloween
  2. A girlfriend
  3. Main guy being nonchalant about the situation

lanascherrycoke OP t1_jaeygiz wrote

the probable reason why it felt paranormal was because of the pre existing spookiness in the air and also if the house was in a rather remote location as compared to the rest of the state or town

Nothing. Never had any other incidents since then. Just thought the timing of it was extremely odd.

it is, what are the chances you'd experience something spooky on a day none other than the holiday for it. most people are in fancy attire out frolicking and collecting candy

Floptopus t1_jaf3dtl wrote

Exactly. Best explanation is maybe the base was sitting on the electrical cable for it and it was unsteady? She liked to keep the window open a little bit and maybe a breeze was just strong enough to tip it over.
