We have not accepted sex workers.
We've barely accepted sex.

Accepted? I still see plenty of arrests.
Unless you were counting everyone with an OnlyFans?

Sex workers are not yet accepted. Customers have always been accepted. It's totally normal for men to watch porn, go to strip clubs, go to prostitutes... It's so normal and accepted.
Meanwhile sex workers are ostracized, treated like shit and paid awfully. They have little rights and are criminalized.

And sex workers for porn are now getting paid a fucking killing

I don't think it's normal or accepted for people to go to prostitutes. Not in the US anyway.

As I understand it, prostitution was outlawed because of worries about married men...procuring their services.

We haven't? I "accept" consenting adults who do whatever they choose to do with each other.

Sex workers are often seen as desperate (not always the case of course) and customers are seen as exploiting the desperate. That said, saying we have "accepted sex workers" is not really true for society at large (in the United States which is the only country I can speak to). Most people still judge sex workers and see what they do as being gross and/or immoral
