The new ones are not iffy, you haven't researched the topic enough.

That’s why I’m asking. Maybe I’m confusing Maytag and Speed Queen thinking Speed Queen was now made by whirlpool, but I think that may be Maytag.

Maytag 575 sets are BIFL. These are generally cheaper.

All Speed Queens are BIFL.

End thinking. Who Made Who is a good song by AC/DC and not worthy of you considering.

This isn't exactly true, the speed queen tc5 and dc5 are BIFL, the others are good but not the tanks that the tc/dc5's are. If you want a BIFL speed queen it's those 2 though, none of the others

Where is your evidence to support this? The only glitch in Speed Queen's lineup in the last 200 years was when they removed the true agitator functionality from their top loaders. This coincided with the launch of the Maytag 575 which curbstomped Speed Queen's sales. Then Speed Queen launched the TC5 which was the last year's model with a fancy new name. In any event, the Speed Queen hate during that period was not with the warranty, but the cleaning ability. We DO NOT want to obfuscate those two elements!

I spent 1700 for a speed queen washer and dryer in 2017. Don't know it that expensive or not and I've not had a problem yet. I run them pretty much everyday .
