I had a base model LG front load washer that broke after about 15 years. I thought that was an acceptable shelf life for a washer so I bought another one with the same direct drive. The old dryer still works great. With that said, I've heard bad things about other LG appliances, but their washer and dryer have been good for me.

It seems to be a bit of a gamble. I’m glad you seem to have been lucky. I’m prepared to buy once cry once type of deal.
