Oh I’ll be sending it in for repair. But the process has left me super frustrated. I remember Jansport being of good quality when I was young. But to have it fail so far and require 4-6 weeks of time to repair. I essentially have to buy a new backpack while I am waiting for this to be repaired.

Go to a thrift store! They are super cheap and you can donate it to a school when you get your Jansport back.

Or go to Walmart and buy a super dope character backpack and donate it to a school (maybe with some supplies) so a kid has a nearly new backpack that his/her friends will be jelly of and the memory will stay with them forever

Genius!

It’s a 1/2 page form, mostly name and address so they can return it to you, shove it in a box and you’re done. Like I said, I literally just got one back Saturday after only two weeks, so their six week estimate is probably max time. They had to repair a cut flap, replace two torn netting pockets with stronger netting, and replace a zipper my daughter cut in two and they still got it back to me in two weeks. I doubt you’re little handle restitch will take that long.

And they might just replace.

BIFL doesn't mean it will last forever. It means it can be maintained and or repaired. Things that get used break. Those broken things can be repaired. That makes it BIFL.

Where did you buy it? My wife bought a jansport fanny pack off of Amazon and it was definitely counterfeit. No YKK zippers, different stitching, different colors etc...

This is a good point. I wonder how they handle counterfeits that are sent in for repair. Anyone know?

I mean great products aren't always going to be perfect. I'd be annoyed too, but can't write them off completely over one failure.

I agree. But after dealing with their customer service… I don’t think I will buy from them again.
