I'd like to find something with the following requirements:

-hard shell

-full glasses-friendly interior lining (yes that does exclude the pelican 1030)

-Easy to open (no zipper, no buckles)

-has a lash tab so it can be hooked to other items (hook need not be included)

-Relatively compact ('ll be putting my daily glasses in there, I don't need massive sports glasses to fit in this case)

Bonus - if it has a small pocket or compartment for a contact lens case

Seems like most of the cases that have lash tabs have zippers and are excessively large. And most of the slim hard-shell cases don't have anything to hook them to something. I'm open to all materials and different opening styles. The top 4 reqs together are particularly hard to find.

Closest I've found is the WITZ Wrapper. It is a little clunky for my tastes but fits the other reqs (not the bonus) . The next best is this one which has a belt loop, not a lash tab.

Does anyone have any other recommendations? I'd love to buy a case that I never have to switch again

What you are describing is a Ray Ban case - when they were made in the US. The Italian comes with cheap plastic cases.

doesn’t exactly match your criteria but I think my Warby Parker leather glasses case is really well made and I find it easy to open / stash. Called the “Parker Travel Case”
