I have been going through all the sofa post here and looked at a lot of the brands and websites mentioned in the comments. I feel like all these high quality ones are crazy expensive like around 10k. I understand that the quality is great for these expensive ones. But I don’t have that much to spend on a sofa/sectional.

Any suggestions on some decent quality sofa/sectional brands for a modern home.?

So like…5k, 1.5k? What’s your rough budget range?

(I've posted this a couple times people have asked about sofas.)

Not sure how you feel about Ikea, but we've had an Ikea Ektorp for 7 years and it's awesome.

We have a basic 3-seat one, but a friend has the corner sectional one and loves it as well.

We've had it for 7 years now, and our son (teenage, 6'4", 225lb) sleeps on it probably 50% of the time (by choice - he says it super comfy). His friends have slept on it loads as well, and my husband is asleep on it now. No squeaks, breaks, anything.

We have 3 identical slip covers we rotate through - it's recommended you line dry them, so we do, but they're super low maintenance. (We did Scotchgard them, which I also recommend.)

We also have 4 cats, 2 of whom are assholes and puke on the couch every couple weeks - comes right up with just water+ vinegar and a rag.

I know it sounds like I'm a shill for Ikea, but I honestly just love the couch that much.

inside weather Bondi sectional. A little on the expensive side, but we did a couch, loveseat and ottoman for under $5k. Had about a year so far, has stood up very well to a large dog and a cat. We got ours in a velvet; has handled dirt and spills very well, couldn't be happier with it.

EDIT: Just checked prices, and they've gone up a bit since we got ours. May not be as good a value currently.
