My first potato peeler (Sparschäler) I got this Sparschäler 10 years ago already used by my grand mother. It is still a mass product and you can buy it for round about 5 USD. I don‘t know why, but for me its still relatively sharp. My roommates during university had new ones and there was no big difference. At least not that big that I thought about a replacement.
