I am looking for a high quality pair of women's leather sandals for the summer with the following characteristics:

  • Brown or black
  • Minimalistic (like two straps)
  • No strap around the big toe
  • Able to walk a ways in
  • Under $100
  • Classy and able to dress up or down (not something like Birkenstocks)

I saw these but I wanted to see if anyone had other suggestions as there were no reviews. Thank you in advance!

NAOT, SAS, and Clark’s are the brands both I and my sisters in my monastery wear. All very very comfortable and hard-wearing leather outers.

The problem with discalced-monk-style sandals is the hard leather sole. It’s just not very comfortable for walking long distances/working.

I love the Dr. Scholl’s sandals I have. My oldest pair is four years and they show no signs of being a bad investment so far. All the shoes have better arch support than standard flat sandals which is good for your walking in them for a while request. I’m gonna see how long they last since I wear these shoes a lot but they’ve held up so far.

I love my Born brand sandals. Have had them for years and years.

Birkenstock. Arizona model is their classic and can usually be found under $100.

If you like more sport-tuned sandals try the Birkenstock water-friendly line.
