I'm looking for a heater that I can set to turn on at a specific time, for example I want it to automatically turn on at 6 am. I'm seeing lots that have timers but I'm not sure if that means it just runs for x amount of hours or if I can have it turn on at a specific time. Thank you!

FWIW, I just had a similar problem. I needed a bedroom at a higher temperature than the rest of the house because of a disabled relative, but it had to be a consistent temperature.

They have extension cords with built in thermostats but I like something more programmable.

I bought a Philips wiz wifi-controllable plug socket (I already use their bulbs) and I took my ecobee room sensor and put it in the room. Then I used smartthings so it turns on/off the heater based on temperature.

Anyway, not sure on your application but there are lots of options for this.

When you do this though, you have to buy a heater with physical controls. If digital, it won't automatically turn o just because the outlet has power.

Also heaters are dangerous and plugging the into an intermediary device isnโ€™t sound. Neither is having one automatically go on if no one is home.

I can't give it the full BIFL seal of approval, because it's only a few years old, but I have a Senville mini-split in the wall of the building I'm sitting in now. I got the Smart WiFi Kit for it and it has an app where I can manage schedules like you describe. It seems fine 3 years in.
