Any recommendations on Dust removers or air purifiers for an all office space or dorm?

I know dust is an unbeatable enemy, but I hate seeing how dusty my pc gets overtime since I don’t live anywhere with an HVAC unit. I’m wondering if anyone knows of some good dust or air purifiers (not exactly sure what to call them) that could help elevate at least some of the dust in my room.

Sorry if this the wrong place to post this, if it is please tell me and I’ll remove it and move it!

I recommend building a CR box. They're cheaper to build than air purifiers are to buy (even more so if you're comparing them based on how much air they filter). While the standard one--a cube of 4 MERV 13 filters with a box fan--is quite large, people have made smaller ones with computer fans or CR boxes with one filter set as a floating shelf. The BIFL aspect is that it's just a fan (which is always useful) and filters (which you'd need to replace on any air purifier). The filters aren't proprietary, too, so you can search for sales and you're not locked into one company or one size.

A CR box, or a Corsi-Rosenthal box, is a very efficient, low-cost, make-it-yourself air filter that was developed by two environmental engineers, Richard Corsi and Jim Rosenthal.

Because of the high volume of air a box fan is able to pull through the large surface area of filters, it ends up being pretty similar to or better than a hepa filter in terms of particles filtered, and they’re cheaper and have less plastic and electronics waste. I would recommend them too. I have had one for over a decade now and it's still going strong but is a little squeaky now on low speed.

Metric 0 of air device purchase is the square footage of the room being served. If you are using it in one room WITH THE DOOR CLOSED, then you measure the room and provide the square footage. If you are using it in an open door area, you need one that can cover the entire area....so if its in the living room and you have a 2500sq ft house with all the doors open you need a 2500sq ft capable unit.

https://austinair.com/ is the king, but you have to buy the right size and/or buy a couple to make up the right size.

Check out Blue Air 121 at Costco. Around $250ish and if I’m remember right it’s one of the best or the best performing filter per dollar by Consumer Reports. Also super simple design so I’m hopeful it will last forever. If not, it goes back to Costco.
