I like it but hate how it’s like 4 inches longer on the back. It’s not like that in the first pic though, does it tie up or something?

Seeing that other people are talking about it being for rowing, I’m guessing that’s to keep your low back covered all the time. If it was the normal length it would ride up every time you reach forward.
You don’t want it to be longer in front for… actually I don’t know why. Style? But the back part makes functional sense.

You are correct but you can actually sit on it and still have full range of motion.
