I've (Male) been using a normal razor (I think they are called straightedge), and as I've started to shave more frequently I've gotten tired of the morning routine of putting on shaving cream just to get a bit of stubs. My experience with an electric razor is that they are hard to get even decent sized hairs and I have to go over my neck and side of my face about 5 times. Is there a good electric razor that can get tiny stubs in one pass under $100? I can pay more than that, but I am hesitant to do so. Thanks.

I bought a Braun series 7 probably 10-12 years ago, expecting it to last like 3 years and it’s still working perfectly. I will buy another if it ever breaks.

Ditto on the Braun 7 Series. Best electric razor I’ve ever bought.

I’m also a cheapo and just wash out the hairs from the filter and refill it with an scented oil & rubbing alcohol solution. I figured that alone would have killed it prematurely. NOPE!

Bought mine in 2007 and it’s still going strong. Great razor.

Back in 2002 when I got to my first duty station I purchased a Braun 8585. It still runs perfectly and the original battery still holds enough charge for 2 full shavings of my face before it needs charged again (I always just have it plugged in when i shave anyways so it never dies mid shave).

I also haven't changed the foil in about 6 or 7 years...you're supposed to do it every 18 to 24 months. Still works perfectly.

Also, my cleaner broke about 11 years ago, so it hasn't had a deep clean since then...I've disassembled it before after I dropped it and a side popped off, and it was still clean on the inside.

For closeness you usually want to go for foil over rotary blades. The best in that category are the Braun or the Panasonic Arc series. Personally, I went with Panasonic because it’s easier to clean (doesn’t require cleaning station or hours to fully clean). Best shave I ever had.

I recommend checking out the Shavercheck reviews. I tried the Speick shaving cream they recommended and it’s literally magic.
