These things can eat up an entire pencil in 30 seconds. I was once punished for doing just that.

Not homeschooled but my family had one of these growing up. I can hear this image and smell the shavings in the drawer.

The large plastic like gear in these disintegrates, so not really a buy it for life. Unless you have a 3d printer, in which case there are free models online to print a replacement.

My dad has one of these on his desk. I used it in elementary school. I’m in my 40s now. It still works.
