Use it to cut eggs and it wont break.

They aren’t for “other veggies”. It’s like saying “i’m using my toothbrush as a hammer and it keeps breaking” then thinking you need to buy a stronger toothbrush instead of using a hammer. Buy a mandolin for the veggies. Cut eggs with the egg slicer.

I have used an egg slicer for mushrooms and strawberries. Nothing firmer worked. The joy of housemates.

Buy something built for commercial use, find a place selling restaurant equipment and buy an egg slicer.

What kind of vegetables? Raw or cooked? The veggies might be killing them. You might try looking for one with blades instead of wires, but even they say only use them on eggs and soft fruit.

Yeah if they are using the slicer on harder veggies than that is probably what is killing them.

use an egg slicer for eggs and a mandoline for cutting veggies :) mandolines have a pretty large price range

If you can’t find a commercial one, the next time you’re at a restaurant that has sliced eggs in one of their dishes, offer the waitress or another low paid employee cash to buy one. I know when I worked food service, I would’ve happily swiped one from the kitchen for you for $20. We had a few, so one missing wouldn’t have been immediately noticed.

Also, only use it for eggs. There are other gadgets meant for slicing veggies, and an egg slicer isn’t one of them.

Get one of those OXOs may not last forever but for residential use you should be fine.
