Does anyone know where I can find affordable snowpants for shorter women. I am trying to find some for my mom who is 5'1''. The only ones I have found with an option for shorter people is Burtons but their pants are quite expensive. Any suggestions would help. Thanks!

Seconding this. As a 4’11 women I check kids section and petites section when I can’t find what I need or get things tailored.

My wife is 5ft and great friends with her tailor. As long as you don't need elastic cuff bottoms it seems really straightforward to modify, or at least it was cheap to do. And they work well skiing for her. She has a Columbia bib pair that were comically long before the hemming.

A lot depends on how long her legs are. Have you tried kids sizes? I’m 5’2” and wear a Arc Teryx women’s bib w pants. It is a little long but it just fits over my ski boots

Columbia outlet had XS last winter. I got my petite daughter kids XL and woman’s XS and they weren’t hugely different.

Arctix Essential bibs from Amazon come in short sizes. I’m 5’3 and tried several pairs of snow pants last year and those were by far the most comfortable.

If you google skim pants hemmed, alteration may be an alternative. If you buy a bifl pair of pants you only have to do it once.

Look on Sierra Trading Post. You can find killer deals there on high end outdoor brands.

5'1" is not THAT short for a woman, it's only about 2 inches below the global average. I would think you would be able to find some from any reputable brand in women's size. 'The North Face' comes to mind. They're great quality and specialize in cold weather gear.

When it comes to height, if she is a little heavier, you want a larger waist size with a shorter leg inseam.

Search engine keywords tip: use ‘kids’ then ‘husky,’ ‘plus’ or ‘extended sizes’
