Speakers aren't BIFL but Sonos is just bliss. All of their products are great.

well they're great until sonos bricks them and forces you to buy a new one. i'll never not be mad about my now worthless Play3.

I think there are old speakers that are as good as new and will still last a long time. But obviously not forever. I think some of the high end units still produced may also do that. But no. Not technically bifl. There are no bifl sound bars though. The very idea of a sound bar is part of a disposable culture.

This. The is not a "good" subreddit. 99.8% of people here were raised in a sawmill and don't know what good is, but they do know what lasts a long time and within reason have no care about cost. You are looking for good and have a cost concern so this sub is not for you.

I’ve been very happy with my Bose system sound bar and sub under 1000$ Costco in can dollars.

All sound bars suck.

even if they didn't, i doubt any would be anything close to BIFL.

Buy two good front speakers that fit your room, then get some cheaper ones for back speakers. Get a monitor that can drive them. Then, think about maybe getting a center speaker, and after that maybe the extras needed for 7.1. You probably won't bother with the last step.

If you don't care about any of that crap above then get whatever soundbar is convenient.

Sonos brick old speakers, and they're overpriced. Avoid.
