Something similar in style to Thursday Boots that I could dress up or down. Just a great every day boot. Tried Thursday and didn't really fit me well for the money. Budget would be $500ish but would go higher if it was warranted. Thanks fellas!

Red wing boots come with a few things like cleanings, laces and discounted re-soling if you walk through the rubber before the leather. They’re like anything nice though, have to maintain them, I put mine on the dryer every night and oil them twice a year
Sounds like you need a pair of iron rangers, or anything else from redwings heritage line. $500 can get you in on a few other brands. Consider asking r/goodyearwelt.
I’d say, grant stone, some Japanese brands (currently cheaper due to the yen being low) like motor, zerrows boots, rdt. Or you could get an Indonesian boot from makers like benzien or sagara.

Seconding red wing. The iron rangers are really popular around here. I have something a bit lower cut. Easy to dress up and down and super comfy once broken in.
Yep. My iron rangers were nightmarish to break in but are so comfortable now. They go with everything. Doc Marten 1460’s are another favorite. I also own a pair of Chippewa 6” Service boots that have served nicely
I like Nick's handmade boots. Check out their website and youtube reviews. They're in the $500 range. They have a few styles for more casual wear.

Blundstones! I love them. Last forever. Pretty replaceable. Bought my mine from the “second hand” Patagonia section. About $100. Real leather and fashionable.
I'll second these. I know most here will not agree and say Redwings or something but Blundstones are great. I'm coming on 5 years now. I oil them twice a year. They look brand new. Super comfortable and won't break the bank. They can be resoled as well.

These are super nice
White’s MP or Bounty Hunter model. Order from Baker’s Boots to nail down your sizing. White’s offers ton of lengths and widths to accommodate your foot. Baker’s has a great customization tool so you can get an idea of the leathers. You might have to wait a while if you customize (6-9 months) and they have a 20% Black Friday sale. The big appeal to me is that they offer the ability to rebuild MOST of their boots. They’ll replace everything except the upper quarters. I like the waxed flesh leathers from Horween. They can take a beating and look great in both settings. If you want something you can shine, Chromexcel can be nice.
I also like my Alden Indy’s. You can get factory seconds from The Shoe Mart by emailing them and ask to be added to their list. You’ll then sign in on their site and have the ability to shop for their seconds. Indy seconds start at $400. Alden also offers lots of lengths and widths to find right fit.
Viberg is out of your price range but you could find some secondhand in that range.
Grant Stone is another solid option under your price range that also offers goodyear welted footwear and a good amount of sizes and great leather options for Horween and C.F. Stead.

Check out Rose and Anvils Youtube channel. He recently cut apart a pair of Alden Indy's and it was really disappointing considering the price point. The materials don't reflect the price like White's or Nick's.
I watched it and still don’t care. People are making too much of a stink about that video. Someone just posted a photo of 10 year old Indy’s the other day. They look stellar. To each their own but it’s still a solid fitting boot and seconds are a great option if firsts don’t seem worth it.
Agreed, I think there is an overall lack of recognition that even Rose Anvil considered them good boots, just more expensive than others at the price point. It is sad that they are more expensive no when they used to be 200-300 but that's not so much a function of quality as the Indy marketing and high demand over time. People like them and buy them, that's why they're so expensive. The Aldens still get stellar reviews, especially for the comfort.
Folks oversimplify to thinking that they are crap. Also they seem to extrapolate that older Indy's might have been better when Rose Anvil never cut an old pair for comparison.
That's fine. However, I'd bet if you cut apart the 10 year old Indy's you'd find higher quality materials.

No, and I probably never will. Why would I pay for subpar components when I can buy something from white's or nick's for about the same or less and be assured they using premium components? Just waiting for my Ariat lacers to fall apart to upgrade.

Yet another vote for Red Wings (Iron Rangers, Heritage line). Incredible boots. Resoleable so with even a little bit of care they should last decades. Mine have been going strong for 5+ years and are still in fantastic (if well-broken-in) shape. Took them to Red Wing twice for their free cleaning and conditioning, else I’ve needed no special care for them.
Viberg is the first name in service boots--but those boots are $800.
White's Boots are just as good, but they're over your budget ($650). However, these boots do go on sale, I would expect that there will be a holiday sale soon.
Red Wing Iron Rangers are also a popular and well made choice. Street price for these boots are ~$325 and they're well worth it. Sometimes I see them as low as $250-ish.

Grant Stone makes a great product, and punches above its price tier. The one thing people will say about the company is that it’s made in China, but it’s from a lot of American made components by workers who get fairly paid (and the company was founded by an American in China)

Boots take a while to break in so make sure you’re giving them a fair chance before you say they don’t fit. My Red Wing Iron Rangers were pretty uncomfortable for a couple weeks before they broke in.
Nicks or whites all day long
Redwings have never let me down. Look at their heritage series. I have had the Foreman Chukka for 7+ years and it’s still in incredible shape.
I’ve owned their work boots for many more years and they’ve always been incredible. Cheap to resole and very durable.
There are many different styles of thursday boots and they all fit different. Maybe try a different style. Or go for redwing iron ranger.
