Like the title says - I am in search of a tarp that will last far longer than the others I bought online and offline here in Germany. Each and every piece dissolved into microplastics within one year - and you can guess solar radiation is moderate... Please help me (and the environment) to find a durable product.

Search for one made of waterproof canvas like the ones used in storefront awnings. They’re super resilient and might have to be made to fit but you’ll buy them once and they’ll last a decade.

Nothing lasts in the Sun. If you're at tarp level, you gotta re-up. my experience, chime in then.

Oh and boat cover makers or sailboat sail vendors also use the same material

I have had amazing luck with Tatonka, I'm slowly collecting every tarp version they have. Local to you in Germany, and made by respectable folks in their own manufacturing facilities. All of my clothing is Tatonka too.

I believe you call them Lori's over there but the repair shops that install and replace 🚛 trailer tarps would be a place to check out. I buy the used ones off dump trailers for covering hay bales for $20 a piece and most of the time they are in quite good condition yet. When im lucky I get ones that were used for grain trailers, they are much more particular and replace them much sooner than gravel and coal haulers do. They can also customize the used ones usually to your size and tie down requirements not going to be cheap but will definitely last they're like a rubberized canvas here in the states.

White tarps made for boating always last a couple of years IMO. They seem a little more fatty or glossy compared to green or other.

The bushcraft guys are very positive about the tarps made by DD Hammocks. I used to work in a bar and I used the same truck liner tarp for years. It was made to fit and very heavy but extremely durable.
