Hi,

I'm looking for good white sneakers brand. Last time I bought some Timberland sneakers but they didn't last even a year. Do you have any recommendations for a brand? And also, do you have any recommendations on how to clean them and make them last?

Thank you!

Apply a superhydrophoic coating before first wear and after cleaning them in the future to keep them looking pristine.

Nike air force 1 would be my pick

Apply coating, and make sure to wipe them down immediately if they get dirty.
Wash the laces frequently, use a scrub brush for the rubberized areas.

Worst case if they start getting really beat up, wipe them down with acetone and then re-paint them. Lots of tutorials on painting shoes on Youtube.

Well sneakers aren't really made to be BIFL. If you want the comfort of soft materials then you won't get the longevity of hard materials. You can only really trade one for the other. You could accept that sneakers don't last a long time and choose to take good care of them and have them for a longer while but eventually they will give out. There are some brands which make better quality sneakers such as New Balance made in USA or made in UK. Alternatively you can buy skate shoes like Converse Vans, they aren't the most comfortable and I don't know if I would even call them sneakers but they can take a hell of a beating. Thursday also makes great shoes.

Well... There's Crown Northampton. Any of their sneakers will be durable and long lasting and can even be resoled by them. Calf leather is strong and soft. Their cheapest sneakers are absurdly expensive but if you really stretch out to shell cordovan sneakers... Those are so perfect many people would assume they use fake leather. That stuff is soft but crazy durable, it does not even crease. Hpwever, just in materials without the work those sneakers are probably 400-500€, shell cordovan is crazy expensive and even the lining leathers for those are crazy high quality and expensive.

I'm not usually a brand whore but I almost only wear Adidas shoes. They last and can take a beating. I've had the main pair I wear now for about 3 years and been wearing them at work in a kitchen for a few months until I get around to buying real slip resistant shoes (but they're so comfortable!)

I did remodeling work in white sneakers for years. The only ones with leather tough enough to last for me were skechers.

Personal consideration, but Asics fit my feet best. They are also probably cheaper than adidas or Nike.

If you like low tops similar to a vans type of shoe, I would recommend Crown northamptons white sneakers

Common Projects uses quality materials but I'm not sure on their longevity.

I've had a pair of Adidas Stan Smith that I've worn to concerts and in all kinds of weather, they are still bright white and I can clean them with baby wipes lol

Probably a less popular opinion, but since leather sneakers last a long time, upon searching, initially I stumbled upon Common Projects, since I personally love quality, minimalistic clothing. I realized quite quickly that the price is too steep and started searching for similar options. Stumbled upon a youtuber Rose Anvil who cuts open shoes. In one video he compared Common Projects to Oliver Cabell - virtually the same materials. I have been using them for almost 3 years now daily, besides winter. Love them and clean them, hope they have a few good years left in them, certainly ordering another pair soon.

Thursdays sneakers are very similar too but a bit cheaper overall. I don't think they have an all white version though. The ones I bought had a defective hide and they tore but I send some photos to Thursday and they just sent me another pair without anything else needed from me. I never got such great customer service before...

I'm keeping the torn ones, maybe one day I'll take them to a cobbler if he can do anything but there aren't many around. The good pair is worn every week once or twice.

Knowledge drop on shoes: Near zero brands are BIFL as they sell both normal and shitbox shoes. Don't ask for brands. Ever.

BIFL sneakers are a thing and they have nothing to do with the brand but rather the sole type: Margom sole.

Go to the googles and search for Margom sole sneakers. These are the only famously known type of sneakers than can be repaired/recrafted by a cobbler. They are not usually cheap and you may not like all the styles, but they are BIFL.

I've had some white Adidas Stan Smiths for about 7 or 8 years. No issues whatsoever with any tearing or anything. I applied a hydrophobic coating every once and a while but other than that just a simple wipe down always cleaned them well.

It probably depends on your foot type and requirements. I love a flat show with little support like Asics Tigers Mexico model. I've had a pair for 7-8 years.

Altra Superior 5 in white is what I'm sporting. Altras in general changed my life. It fixed my knee pain as well. If you get a chance go try some on and you'll see what I mean. The toe box alone helps your feet feel so much better. As for longevity I took a pair on a week long hike in the rain and rough terrain and they're still good as new.
