I'm looking for a small (about 6 oz) cream pitcher /with a lid/ for my tea service. My cat is persistent about wanting milk and I'm tired of shuffling my pitcher around to keep him out of it.

I have my eye on a vintage Stieff pewter pitcher with lid from the mid 60's, but I know restrictions on the lead content of serving ware weren't enacted till 1974. I like the idea of the pewter as the weight would be heavier for my cat to fuck with, and would keep the milk chilled, but I'd hate to slowly poison myself and I'm struggling to find a reasonable modern option.

If it does contain lead, it’s not safe for food use. If you’re able, you can test it for lead. Here’s a nice article.
