Wooden clothespins have always been my go-to. I buy them used and they last a looooong time!

You want these. I have some knock-offs too, but the Lee Valley made-in-Italy ones are the best.

Came here to say this, pricey but awesome. We’ve had ours for years they stay outside in a pail all year no rust, highly recommend.

Honestly, lee valley is the best. Their metal measuring cups are very much BIFL.

To be fair, plastic measuring cups should probably be BIFL also.

I’ve never had a plastic measuring cup that has not lost a handle or shattered or some other nonsense

I lived in Italy for 2 years. The design of every home product, car, furniture just knocked my socks off. Absolutely amazing.

Anyone compare the Pincinox pins Made in France with the pins sold in Canada by Lee Valley that are Made in Italy?

Unsure if the Pincinox are available in Canada but are so in the USA and at least for Canadians, the Pincinox pins are comparable in price maybe a tad more expensive at $24 USD vs $29 Cdn$ for a pkg. of 20

Anyone with any insight or able to compare the two?

FWIW for bulky items I have been using THESE from Lee Valley in combination with "normal" heavy duty wooden pins for regular laundry for about 20 years without issue along the coast of Nova Scotia on my 80 foot clothesline.

I've never seen the Pincinox on my side of Canada. I have found other metal clothespins at Winners and I got all excited since they are much cheaper than Lee Valley, but they also aren't nearly as good a clip. They are still at least better than the wooden ones from Crappy Tire, so it wasn't a total waste. I'll just add a pack of pins to each Lee Valley Valley order I do until I have enough for the whole line. I used to use their jumbo wooden ones and absolutely loved them, but didn't move them with me. Regrets! They don't sell those anymore. I hope the next house owner is still getting much joy from them. Admittedly, the metal ones are even nicer.

Amazon does not belong in this sub 🤷‍♂️

Edit: I just mean that, these are going to be made as cheap as possible, and will not last

The Amazon ones are a design rip-off of the original French mfg, Pincinox. In the USA there are four online vendors carrying the original. I just ordered a bag from Good Gray (retail store in Petaluma CA and online)

Yea I use them, they’re great, you don’t even have to use them for just clothes, I use them on food packets and other thing that may need it

I find the wire ones twist on the line denting the clothes. That annoys me. The Pincinox ones don't do that and also grip better. I switched to them about 10 years ago and haven't bought pegs since.

I did do the evil thing of giving my mother and her sister "sample bags" of about 20 pegs. They both ended up buying more of them because having some good pegs is way more annoying than having all shitty ones.

Stainless will rust eventually. Ensure you get marine grade and they'll last much better. Obviously don't leave them on the line, take care of them, and they should last for life.

Kevin’s quality clothes pins are the best- and have a lifetime warranty. They are much bigger than the junk found in stores

My one still rust for some reason. Could be a dud.
