After blowing out the crotch of 3 pairs of pricy LLbean pants, I’m trying to find a 5 pocket, straight to slim straight pants made of durable material. Mostly looking at Kuhls Rydr/easy rydr, or Duluth Trading firehose flex.

Granted, I’m sure the crotches gave out because I’ve put on weight being a new dad. Nor do I expect them to last “For Life”, but im expecting some level of quality for the cost.

Would mention you check out Mascot workwear pants. There are a number of online retailers in the USA for this Dutch brand. I have used them for many years as daily wear work pants.

Duluth’s firehouse pants hold up really well.

Banana Republic stretch khakis. I still have a pair from years ago and theyre super comfy. I fluctuate in weight also whether eating too much pizza with my kid or riding bike and putting off.

Firehouse flex is questionable. I have 3 pair and they are probably the most comfortable pair of pants I’ve had. However, I use a pocket knife and small flashlight clipped into my front right pocket frequently, and within a year the pocket seam is torn to shreds. I have three pairs and wouldn’t dissuade you from them, but depends what you do. I also have 2 pair of under armor enduro pants. These have surprisingly held up much better than the Duluth. The Duluth shrunk up an inch or two in length as well after a few months of use. I work as a shop floor engineer for heavy equipment and frequently do mechanic-esque work FWIW.

Origen Maine. Made in the US if that’s of interest to you.

Pretty much matching all your requirements, and quite literally the only pants I own (albeit a handful of pairs in different colors) is the Mountain Hardwear AP Pant. I even cycle to work and the crotch holds up well.

And look, they’re on 50% off sale right now!
