I’d vote Birkenstocks or maybe Merrill slipons. Birks can be reheeled/resoled and last for many years.

Second the birks. You know she likes the fit. I like my crocs, too, but Birkis are just fantastic shoes.

+1 for Glerups. Have been haing a pair for 3 years with the leather sole. Have worns outside numerous times to take the dogs out. No ripping, staining, or stinking. I'm in Midwest US so wear mine about 3-4 months every day, all day, out of the year.
