Make your own from hair ties you know last. They are very easy to make. Get satin (not real silk - it can dry your hair), and you can hand sew it if you don't have a machine. https://threadsmonthly.com/diy-scrunchie-with-hair-tie/

And if you really want to go with silk, you can get a silk shirt or something similar from a thrift shop. I did this to make my own face masks to help with the contact acne I was getting. Got 2 yards off silk off a Lane Bryant blouse.

My non branded spiral hair ties have lasted for about 3 years! Amazing, they hold well, and not easily lost, either.

I found spiral ties work best. And if they are stretched out heating with the blow-dryer for a moment causes them to spring back.

Other than that, try french pins.

the silk ones i've bought off Slip and the knock offs on Amazon all stretch out. The shitty satin ones I bought on clearance off Urban Outfitters are great. Of course, they're not on there anymore...I certainly would go by reviews and forget brand names. good luck!

I bought these a year and a half ago. My husband has super thick hair and is not gentle with elastics and they have never broken. They aren’t even stretched out at all. They don’t snag my hair, and mine is very fine. I’ve used many silk hair ties before and they’ve always gotten stretched out pretty quickly.

These did not work for me at all sadly. And so expensive!! I found they stretched out pretty much immediately and ripped my hair a lot

Yea I have them in the bigger size and they stretch out pretty quick, but I heard the skinny one is better

Scrunchies are a lot more durable than hair ties, at least in my personal experience. I have the best luck with Goody but Scünci is usually fine too.

XXL Is a brand of scrunchie my girlfriend likes. Her sister buys so many of them that they actually named one after her but its not for sale on the site anymore :/ They are wicked. Made in Ontario Canada.

Invisibobble scrunchies have served me well. There are several satin covered styles to choose from.

I’ve tried the dollar tree ones and they DO wear out fast. Just get a decent pack and they’ll last a lot longer!

I have a bunch of silk ties from h&m, they come in a bundle of 3 or 4, for about a year or so. I use them daily and none of them broke or stretched out so far. They are made from real silk so they are on the more pricey side but worth it.
