So have loved these leather Sam Edelman Joey boots, they’re comfortable , have a 5.5” shaft height that hits my leg at the right spot, a not too tall 2.5” heel, and a semi pointed almond toe that is flattering without making my feet look too long. They were cheap and they lasted several seasons but have reached the end of their life and started peeling . I bought them a long time ago not wanting to invest in super high quality boots yet because I know it will be $$$ and wasn’t sure if I’d love the style for a long time- turns out I still really love them so I’m ready to pull the trigger on a nicer pair. I live in Florida so warmth isn’t a big issue - just looking for quality leather that won’t peel after a few years like these . Anyone have any boots in a similar style that they love? Hoping to spend under $500. Bonus if they can be re-soled because obviously that makes them more BIFL but not a must.

Yes, I was going to say the Dari boot from Nisolo. I think they are waterproof too, which is a nice feature.

All conditioned leather - which is a requirement to be for life- is waterproof.

Wish Frye would add that to their lineup then. My friend worked for them for a decade and would always warn me not to get them (any of my many pairs) wet because Frye wouldn’t stand behind any warranty or repair if you did.

Check out Thursday boot company

Soho Zip looks like the closest to your existing pair https://thursdayboots.com/products/womens-soho-high-heel-zip-up-boot-black

Thanks. The Tempo is looking pretty nice . I’ve seen ads for this company but hadn’t heard any real reviews concerning the quality

Those flat soles though, look so slippery.

I like RM Williams Cuban heal boots. Expensive but lasts many many years. My aunts pair are in their 3rd decade. They have a great custom program that would allow you to have the side zip if you don’t love the Chelsea boot style.

They’ve got some beautiful Chelseas. It’s making me want to save up to upgrade a few other pairs of boots !

I bought the Italian Leather Chelsea Boot in black by Everlane last year and they are soooo amazing. No break in time, buttery leather, snug around the ankles. I’ve worn them almost every day to work all winter and they’re holding up excellent.

Was eyeing the city boot but it’s all sold out in most sizes . Good to know the leather holds up ! Thanks

You can find Everlane on resale sites like Poshmark. I know that is hard if you don’t know you’ll like it but if you find them at a good deal and they don’t work you can sell them.

Red Wing Women's Harriet. These are not exactly what you wanted, but sorta close.

Red Wing Women's collection.

I was going to recommend these as well, got the chunky heel pair over 5 years ago, still going strong with conditioning every 6 months

Edited to add, you can definitely use a shoe cream to darken the brown, mine have darkened anyway over the years. I ended up getting another pair of flat chelsea boots, iron rangers and the oxfords as well. All superb quality and with recraftable soles. You can also check out r/goodyearwelt for some extra insight on good boots. Good luck!

Blundstone has some nice dress boots. I have a pair of their Chelsea boots. They’re 6 years old and still look brand new. Might not be an exact match, but I can attest to the quality.

The #1960 and #1671 heels are close to what you’re looking for.

These are great boots but I wouldn’t consider them to be the dress style OP posted

Yes I definitely love the look of Blundstones for an everyday utility boot but looking for something more sleek and dressy

I have a pair of Artica boots. I have not had them for life, but I’ve worn them in snow for three winters (including salt, mud, etc) and they still look and feel brand new. Real leather and water proof too.

Yes! I use a leather conditioner/protector before exposing them to the elements and regularly throughout the winter (maybe once a month). Then one final coat at the end of the season before they’re put in storage :)

Can you recommend a good leather conditioner?

Depending on where you live, I honestly just use the Aldo one. It’s cheap but I’ve used it for 15 years and never been disappointed! Aldo Water Resistant Lotion. Sold out right now but I’m sure they’ll restock very soon.

My lady has owned nothing but these for as long as I've known her.

She still has the pair she was wearing the day I met her.

Macy's is having a Black Friday sale (even though today is Wednesday). There seems to be a lot of women's boots to choose from.

Then there is DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse) that has this ad on its site: Last Day (!) 30% Off Boots
