Why does everything get moldy or pool water that can’t drain and ends up smelly? Why is it so hard to find a dang toothbrush holder?

I use a favorite mug that the handle broke off of.
Use a clear glass cup, honestly. I use a tall stemless champagne flute. You can see if it’s getting gross and then just wash it when you do your dishes.
I use a Crown Royal glass from the thrift store. Nice heavy bottom so it doesn't tip over and you can throw it in the dishwasher. If you like booze, the box sets come with a pair even, for lazier swapping.
Mason jars, swap out weekly.
Get a toothbrush hook instead
Where does the water drip down with those though? On the counter top?
I put mine over the sink so the water drips down onto the sink
Your sink goes all the way flush to your wall?
It does.
Oh cool then!
Mine doesn’t lol
Do you wash it regularly? Any cup will last forever as a toothbrush holder if you clean it.
I wouldn’t say regularly. I have adhd and it makes cleaning hard. I prioritize dishes laundry floors etc I can’t really explain why the toothbrush holder takes a back seat but it does lol
Quing Japanese-style smooth ceramic individual toothbrush holder takes up little room and can be cleaned by swiping with alcohol on a cotton ball occasionally or probably just wiped out daily or put in the dishwasher weekly.

something like this perhaps, https://amzn.eu/d/g5SPkxY
BIFL? Literally any mug will do. Not-clean-it-for-life? Does not exist.
My husband and I have adhd. I clean it when I remember but that’s usually not before it gets gunky. I just need something that doesn’t pool water, leak water on the counter, and has good ventilation. Wish people weren’t so snarky.
A little corner metal basket shelf? Amazon has like 72,194 that are mounted by screws, stickies, or suction.
If you use an antiseptic mouthwash (i.e, like Listerine and it's generic equivalents) you can soak your toothbrush head in the mouthwash for 15 minutes each week to totally disinfect it and get rid of any bad taste on it.
Hey that’s neat! Thanks. I don’t have a problem with my actual brush, just were it rests but this is very helpful anyway :)

Get a mug from your kitchen. When you clean your bathroom switch mugs.
Put the dirty one in the wash. Repeat next week.
This doesn't work if you don't clean your bathroom.
