So what your saying is that after 6 hours your zoji was still too hot to drink? Mostly kidding, but really, some of these thermoses are too efficient at this point, you want to consume coffee around 135ish F.

At my job it can get pretty cold so it loses heat faster. Works perfectly for my situation.

They were both left open? Does one have a larger opening than the other? Is one wider than the other?

They were left open before the test started so they both had the same ambient internal temperature is what I understood.

The zuri has a smaller opening and a smaller top surface area as well as its taller and not as wide.

I assume all of that plays apart with why zuri is BY FAR the best at retaining heat. The heat basically only escapes from the top and zuri has the least amount of liquid exposed. Also their lids are way more robust and thicker than everything else.

My Zuri I can put tea in it at about 4:45am and at 5:30-6pm its still very nice to drink.

I had to buy worse ones if i wanted to drink them on the way to work or around the house because even leaving the lid open wasn't good enough to have them cool off fast enough to a drinkable temp.

I have one. I make my coffee strong and put an ice cube in it to get it down to just above drinking temp. It's perfect. If I don't do that. I have to leave the thing open for an hour or so before I can drink it.

Hahaha. Yes- I agree. I don’t dare try to drink the coffee on the drive anymore! I’ll be swearing and might spit it out all over the wheel to save my tongue. Rofl!!

I read that as 5:30- 6 AM and was thinking how hot do you need to have your teas to be drinkable.

It’s true. The Zoji retains heat so well it can be dangerous to drink straight from it but I prefer to pour into a cup from my thermos anyhow and for that purpose it is great.

If you close the lid on them, at 6 hours its still hot hot. I had to buy cheaper\crappier ones so i can actually use them at home or drink them on the way\shortly after getting to work without having to leave the lid off forever before hand.

I make my morning k-cup coffee straight into a yeti and then leave the lid off for 10ish minutes just so I can drink it on the way to work.

Get it to drinking temp before you put it in. Then the efficiency is working for you. I make my coffee strong and put one ice cube in it. I have it down to a science where the icecube is a very specific size and it gets it to perfec, ringghhtt above drinking temp, and its perfect when I get to work.

Yes I have to cool my tea before putting it in my zojirushi or it’s undrinkable until mid afternoon.
