as the title says, i am on the hunt for a mattress pad or topper for my incredibly firm queen sized mattress that i just inherited. It was free from my parents so I took it and im grateful but goodness, its so firm. Im looking for a way to make it way more comfortable and soft but nothing too squishy to where you totally sink into the pad/topper. Anyone have any recommendations?

I suggest you mention your country, because this is an international community and I may recommend something that isn't available on your country.

I got a wool one from Sleep & Beyond about 3 years ago. Comfortable and machine washable. Added a couple years to my mattress that fell apart too fast. Still looks and feels new.

I just bought a 4” twin foam topper from Walmart that was fairly good for $100. They also had 3”.

Seconding the Sleep & Beyond. Phenomenol temperature regulation and no signs of wear after 2 years. OP be advised there are two versions: a washable and non-washable one. I have the non-washable one

Toppers will never be for life. We ordered one with Lidl (Lidl is much like Aldi for those that don't have Lidl in their country). They are known for nice mattresses in consumer tests but we absolutely didn't like it. We were looking around and found good quality but overpriced ones. €1200 For that price, we could replace an IKEA 4 times. We drove straight to IKEA and our problem was solved.

I’m happy with a 2” soft top mattress topper from “sleep on latex” purchased from Amazon. 3” thick would probably have been better, but I’m pretty heavy.

IKEA is pretty good. I got one for a mattress that had seen better days and I liked it.

Frankenmuth Woolen Mill is the best you’ll ever buy if you do. Made in the USA in the same factory since 1894. They make the best comforters and toppers ever, by far

4in Serta mattress topper we bought from sams is like sleeping on the clouds. Bought it because our old tempur pedic wasn’t as comfortable as it once was. It’s like we upgraded to the nicest mattress we ever slept on. King size is $169 right now. No bullshit it’s really nice. We got it in early 11/22.

You cannot ask people about mattresses or toppers or pads on the internet. We don't know if they will be too hot or cold for you. We don't know if they will be too soft or too firm for you. We damn sure can't put a metric on comfort or sinking as you may weigh 104lbs or weigh 28 Stone with both skewing things up greatly.

Go to a vendor with a great return policy and maybe get lucky on the first shot.

I send this. Sleeponlatex.com

I got the 2" wish I got the 3" though. Helped my back pain immensely. The GF got one too after sleeping in my bed and it seems to have helped hers as well. I've had mine for about 2 years now.
