Is anyone aware of any glass storage containers that actually stack?

Requirements

  • Non-Chip
  • Nestable/Stackable with the same size contain (i.e. 8" will nest into an 8")
  • Leak-Proof

Every container out there seems to not be stackable. Those that nest inside a container that is smaller always chip. I really don't want to put the lid between containers, as it's not super convenient and not storage friendly.

I found the perfect container but they don't seem to sell it anymore: https://giantfood.com/groceries/laundry-paper-cleaning/food-storage-wraps/storage-containers/rubbermaid-easy-find-lids-oven-safe-glass-food-storage-container-55-cup.html

We have the rectangle Pyrex containers. They stack well - we had to replace the plastic lids after 5-7 years.

I have these as well. They’ve never chipped or leaked. I can’t say the same for any other glass containers I’ve tried. Probably had them for 5-6 years now and all but two of my lids are still good.

Yes. The top ones. I don’t like the lids from the bottom link. They have a removable seal that is finicky some times.

I have a bunch of the Simply Store ones too, and these basic lids have been my favorite of all the styles I’ve tried. Simple to use, good reliable seal. I haven’t experienced any leaking.

The 1st link you have there. They leak.

If I put soup in them and put them upside down they leak. If I put spaghetti in it is fine

These ones? https://www.costco.com/snapware-pyrex-18-piece-glass-food-storage-set.product.100358145.html

Can a 4 cup medium square container fit into another 4 cup medium square container?

Mine are identical except they didn't come with the round ones. I can confirm that the square/rectangular ones all fit into each other. I think the lids have lifetime warranties too. Here's closer to my set, but I did buy it at Costco: https://www.snapware.com/product/10-piece-food-storage-container-set-made-pyrex-glass

I wish this post existed before I bought my own lol. I bought the Anchor Hocking stackable ones. They are round which distribute heat more evenly and are pretty durable, but they only stack with differently sized ones.

I love Snap Lock containers. They last 10 years plus, and won’t chip unless someone decides to hulk out when unloading the dishwasher.

The ikea 365 glass storage containers stack well and are very durable in my experience, though I don't know if they're sold as non chip.

I have a ton of the ones you linked to in different sizes. I searched but could only find out of stock links. Our lids are different (red outer, clear center) but they have held up well. Honestly they might be 15 years old by now. When was the big anti plastic push for food storage? I was surprised to see these aren’t still being sold. I think I have two footprints that stack - larger size had 3 depths and smaller size has two depths. The lids also squeeze together so you can stack them as a single unit per size - two towers vs dozens of loose lids. If you can find them somewhere or something similar I really recommend them. I’m pretty amazed we’ve had them so long - they have held up beautifully and get used constantly.

I wish I could find these! I even checked all over eBay.

If I ever come across them i’m the weirdo that will randomly message you bc I’ve remembered. The ikea ones sound promising - if you aren’t near a store join ikea family (it’s free) for shipping discounts.

Duralex Freshbox stack and nest. I don't know if they're sold outside France, unlike their drinking glasses.

Maybe check Corelle?

We've bought a few sets of the duralex from Amazon. Best set of containers we've had

Snapware from Costco! I agree the nesting glass ones chip. The snapware completely seal, lasts forever (I’ve had mine a long time). Costco seems to always carry it so you can replace a set if some disappear. And they stack well.

The square pyrex containers I have (Simply Store series) are stackable since the sides are slightly angled. Mine are decades old and still going strong. No chipping at all. I have replaced a few of the plastic lids, which are easy to find online.

Really wish Rubbermaid still made the glass style you linked. We have a big set of them and they are very durable.

These stack when the lids are off. They are pretty leak proof although I don't carry soup in them sideways a lot to really test it.
